Amáltheia NX-42 is a next-generation structural Radar Absorbent Material (RAM) engineered to deliver broadband electromagnetic attenuation while maintaining load-bearing capability and aerospace-grade durability.

Developed using LightRoad’s proprietary graphene-enhanced multi-layer architecture, Amáltheia integrates conductive, magnetic, dielectric and ferroelectric elements into a single composite system optimized for S-, C- and X-band stealth performance.

It enables lightweight low-observability surfaces for aerospace, naval and advanced platform applications without compromising structural integrity.

Such levels of absorption, embedded directly in a load-bearing composite, drastically reduce return power even for high-end multi-million-euro AESA systems.
In practical terms:
Amáltheia can introduce low-observable signatures that create blind cones, coherence disruptions and tracking instabilities in advanced radars like the Kronos family, especially at short-to-medium range where structural RAM is most effective.

Technology Overview

Amáltheia NX-42 employs a graded impedance-matching structure combining:

  • Graphene-based conductive layers for surface loss and controlled percolation
  • Magneto-lossy fillers for magnetic attenuation
  • Ferroelectric domains for dielectric relaxation losses
  • Scattering phases for multi-mechanism energy dissipation
  • Ceramic dispersions to stabilize dielectric response and tune broadband behaviour
  • Carbon-fiber structural plies forming the mechanical backbone of the system

This architecture creates phase decorrelation, multi-path destructive interference, and broadband energy dissipation, resulting in high absorption across wide frequency ranges.
